"My father says that almost the whole world is asleep. Everybody you know, everybody you see, everybody you talk to. He says that only a few people are awake and they live in a state of constant total amazement."
—  Patricia Graynamore. Joe vs The Volcano

  • The plot is allowed to evolve naturally at an even yet compelling pace, with each character being investigated with due diligence and breadth. It’s also fun to see so many NF character types in lead rolls, perhaps in part due to the matriarchal leadership. Imagine that!

The story is a prequel to the original film and provides a new insight into the distinctive cultures of all the different characters and races of the world of Thra.

I won’t go into the details of the plot too much, as I think I’ve done a pretty decent job of selling this.

So, a great series binge opportunity for both young and old, (perhaps not too young, as the title might suggest it can be a bit dark at times) if you haven’t already had the chance to catch this premium work of wonder.

I can’t wait to find out what they come up with for the second season and really looking forward to seeing the revelation of Deets vision.

Ah my haunting soulmate Deethra. Is it so wrong to crush on a puppet..?

  1. Beautifully written! You are very talented with reviews. I needed a nudge to see Joe V the volcano – it got my attention at the weekend and now I really must see the new Blade runner all the way through .

“In Budapest, surgeons operated on printer's apprentice Gyoergyi Szabo, 17, who, brooding over the loss of a sweetheart, had set her name in type and swollowed the type.”
